Director's Corner,

Goodbye January and Hello to hopefully a warmer February!  It was one long and cold month.  I did a lot of reading during January.  What did you do?  Hopefully you signed up for our winter reading program “Reading Through the Freeze” which started January 19th.  It is not too late to sign up and get started on your reading list.  Come in and talk to Kaylee or Samantha for more details.

Have you ever wondered how old Punxsutawney Phil is?  Yes, the Groundhog Day Legend!  Well, he is 139 years old and has a rich history dating back to February 2, 1886 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.  In the late summer, the Groundhog club makes a Trek to Phil’s stump at Gobbler’s Knob to feed him his “Elixir of Life”.  The elixir is made from a secret recipe and provides Phil with the potion that has sustained his longevity and youthful good looks.  Will Phil see his shadow on Monday?  A meteorologist predicts Phil will see his shadow forecasting six more weeks of winter.  Great!

Please remember that hoopla, Libby, MeL, Craft and Hobby and kanopy are available to you with your library card.  Start enjoying all that is offered to you.  Need help?  Call or come in and we would be glad to get you started.

The Happy Bookers; Bookaholics Book Club is in full swing.  The club meets  the second Wednesday of every month right at the library.  If you have wanted to join a Book Club, this is the one for you.  Call or come in for more details.
