January Newsletter

Director's Corner,

Hello 2026!

Another year has passed us by.  I want to take a moment to reflect on 2025.  We had a few changes in our staff.  We had to say goodbye to Paige as she started her next adventure and we welcomed Samantha to the team.  Sam is a true book enthusiast.  She loves all genres especially Historical Fiction and Fantasy-Romance.  Kaylee loves her soccer and music.  You can ask her any questions on those two topics and she will know the answer.  Come in and ask Kaylee or Sam for a suggestion for reading material.  They will both be glad to pull a few books for you to ponder.

We had fantastic numbers for our reading programs.  There are a lot of readers in the community.  We had a very strong Rhythm and Rhyme Story Time and Viking Lego Club.  I hope it continues in 2026.  Please take a look at these programs, ask questions, and come join in the fun.

Paige had started a Fiber Art class last spring.  If you would like to learn how to knit or crochet, please let us know.  We just purchased a number of Amigurumi titles for you, too.

The Happy Bookers:  Bookaholics Book Club is in full swing.  They meet once a month right at the library.  If you have wanted to join a Book Club, this is the one for you.  Check our library calendar for all of the contests that we run throughout the year.  If you have any questions on any of our programs, please give us a call at 645-2989.

I want to thank our Friends of the Library for all of the work they do for the library.  They provide so much support for all of our programs throughout the year.  If you are interested in our Friends Group, please contact me.  I can give you the information needed to become a Friend in 2026.

Reminder – hoopla, Libby, MeL, Craft and Hobby and kanopy are available to you with your library card.  Start enjoying all that is offered.

I want to thank each patron at the PBTDL for your continued support.  As always, you filled the Mitten Tree for 2025.  With your donations, we were able to help fill the need in our community.  Thank you so much.

You make our jobs so enjoyable.  Kaylee, Sam and I enjoy seeing you and helping you with your reading selections.  Come in and let’s get started on your 2026 reading list.  Don't forget to get signed up for "Reading Through the Freeze", our Winter Reading Program .  It starts on Monday, January 19 and runs through March 7.  Get signed up today!

Have a wonderful start to 2026.
