Director's Corner,

JUNE has arrived!  With that being said, “Gizzard Fest” has arrived!  The Friends of the PBTDL will hold their annual “Well Read Shed” book sale during the festival on Friday and Saturday.  Please stop in and support the Friends.  We are looking forward to seeing you.  There are some really great titles just waiting for you to pick up!

Kaylee and Samantha are ready to get you signed up for the Summer Reading Program “Unearth The Story” which starts on Monday, June 22nd.  Please stop in when you get a minute and get your book bag for the summer.  Sign up starts June 1st.  Our summer events start on Tuesday, June 23rd with “Paint Stations with Sam” at the Park. I hope to see you there.

Are you looking for a beach read?  If so, stop in.  We have a great selection just for you this summer.  Don’t forget Juneteenth on Friday, June 19th.  Established in 2021, Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when freedom was announced marking the end of slavery in the United States.  Also, don’t forget Flag Day which is Sunday, June 14th.

What’s on my nightstand?   “Murder at the castle” by C. L. Miller.  The Lockwood Antique Hunter’s Agency is at it again.  They are investigating an isolated castle in the Scottish countryside where a member of their agency was last known to be.  It takes Freya and Aunt Carole to figure it out.  I just hope they can get there in time.

Whatever your June looks like, have fun and READ.
