May Newsletter

Director's Corner,

HELLO May!  Did you know it is National Barbecue Month?  Oh yes, it is time to bring out your grill or smoker and fire up your favorite dish with family and friends.  This is a great fun way to kick off summer.  There are graduations to celebrate and of course, Memorial Day is on Monday, May 25th.  This is a day of remembrance for military personnel who died in service and there are many local parades or the National Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, too, honoring 250 years of American service and sacrifice.  Please take a moment to honor and remember our fallen heroes.

Your library has many events coming up this summer.  Kaylee and Samantha are gearing up for the Summer Reading Program “Unearth a Story”.  Let’s uncover hidden histories or explore the past and go on a great adventure.  This year’s theme underscores the joy of discovery that reading brings and that every person and community have stories waiting to be shared through books and programs.  I am excited to share this year’s events with you.  You will find them posted in our enewsletter or at the library.  Mark your calendar for June 22nd.

The Friends of the PBTDL are getting ready for their annual Well Read Shed Book Sale during Gizzard Fest.  The shed will be open on Friday, June 5 from 12:00 to 4:00 and Saturday, June 6 from 10:00 to 4:00.  Please stop in, say hi and support the Friends.
