Director's Corner,

HELLO NOVEMBER!

Wow.  How time keeps moving along.  It’s turkey, pumpkin pie and family gatherings this month.  I look forward to getting together with family and friends celebrating all of the festivities that November brings.

Please thank our Veterans on November 11th.  Did you know?  Red poppies, a symbol of World War I from their appearance in the beloved poem "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae, are sold in Canada and the United Kingdom on Remembrance Day to raise money for veterans or worn in the lapel as a tribute.  I thank you for your service.

What’s happening at your Library?  Lots of new titles have arrived for you to enjoy.  Stop in and take a look.  Don’t forget our Tuesday Story Time with Sam at 10:30 or our Viking Lego Club at 3:00 with Sam.  Also, our Book Club meets once a month on Wednesday’s.  Call and find out more about it.  Whatever you are planning for this month, enjoy and take time to read.

What’s on Lu Ann’s night stand?  I am very excited to read  the new title from Ariel Lawhon, “The Pirate Queen”.  It is a historical fiction based on Grace O’Malley’s life.  Keenly observed and fiercely written, the novel channels the untamed beauty and harsh realities of sixteenth-century Ireland.

Until next month have a Happy Thanksgiving and a fantastic November.
